An Unexpected Apparition

On my way out of Anvil -- and I swear this is true -- some frantic-looking man armed like a mercenary rushed up and asked if I were a strong hero or something, and wanting help with some bandits. Honestly, he was a lunatic. I tried to give him the brush-off but he became annoyed and kept insulting me, calling me a mudcrab . I had enough and, with every intention of turning his sorry case over to the nearest city watchman, I told him what he wanted to hear -- that yes, I was strong hero, so lets go. Then he draws his two handed sword and takes a swing at me. I cry bloody murder of course, but by the time the watch had rushed over, I had managed to -- narrowly -- dispatch him. After that -- and I'm not even sure this really happened -- an apparition of a green-eyed woman in a black hooded outfit spoke to me. Mumbled some psychotic garbage about how she enjoyed seeing me kill this person and gave me some veiled threat about joining her in something or other, "or else". I d

Carahil of the Anvil Mages Guild

My first move in Anvil was to -- you guessed it -- make friends and connections. I joined the local Mages Guild . (I didn't want anything to do with the local Legion, of course.) The head of the guild was a rather somber-looking Altmer of past middle age, by the name of Carahil . I assure you it's not like I had intended on seducing her quite so far on our very first meeting (and sleeping with the boss is a delicate matter, as you can imagine) but one didn't turn down such opportunities, especially when she really was an intelligent companion, delightful to chat with... and wonderfully willing in bed... Prologue and Arrival in Anvil

It's not even evening and I've killed three people already! I'm sorry, but I needed to get that off my chest. Finally I'm able to write again! I'm lying low in Tamriel after the scandal at the Legion HQ and have only this afternoon arrived by ship on the mainland, in the south-western port city of Anvil. I thought I might as well look for my half-sister Estelle as something to do while in exile. Yes, I'm exiled, more or less. To protect Lexie's station at the Legion , I asked her to dishonourably discharge me. That way, Lexie (actually, "Captain Lex"; although her soldiers often referred to her fondly as "Sexy Lexie") could politically distance herself from me and whatever our liaisons had ultimately caused. Making friends and deepening meaningful relationships (with or without rolling around in bed, mind you) has always served me well, and at the Imperial Legion, Captain Lex was not only a lovely friend with benefits but one with som
